The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board of Directors has awarded on-airport rental car concessions contracts at Washington Dulles International (IAD) to four companies, including in all contracts a requirement to include green vehicles in their airport fleets, including hybrid electric, plug-in and battery electric vehicles.
Enterprise, which includes Alamo Rent A Car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental; The Hertz Corporation, which includes Hertz, Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental; Avis Budget Car Rental, and Sixt Rent a Car will provide rental car services at the airport under the new contracts.
With the green vehicle requirement, each company will maintain an annual number of environmentally friendly vehicles at the airport facility, promote the availability of these vehicles to their customers and encourage their usage.
