Sacramento Awards Food, Beverage Contract To SSP

SSP America has been awarded a 10-year, $80 million contract to operate six food and beverage units that span 8,000 square feet of space at Sacramento International’s (SMF) Terminal A.

SSP already operates seven units in Terminal B at SMF.

“We are delighted to continue and now expand the success of our operations with our partners at Sacramento International,” says Pat Murray, SSP America’s executive vice president. “Passengers have been giving us rave reviews about our offerings at Terminal B, and we are thrilled to be introducing even more unique local stars of the Sacramento community to Terminal A.”

The offerings include:

• Mason Wong’s Cafeteria 15L, an urban kitchen with an outlet on Terminal A
• Squeeze Inn, a local burger concept founded by Travis Hausauer
• Paesanos, an Italian-style restaurant
• Freshii, a health-casual restaurant with offerings that include salads, burritos, wraps and rice bowls
• Urban Crave, a proprietary SSP concept offering authentic street food serving up “bites from the edge”
• Peet’s Coffee & Tea

Most existing restaurants in Terminal A will cease operations July 31. SSP will operate temporary restaurants offering hamburgers, pizza, sandwiches and coffee until the new slate of restaurants open; that’s expected to happen in the late spring of 2015.
