Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) announced that Harold Samms III has been named its new deputy executive director of the Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) Performance at Los Angeles International (LAX) and Van Nuys airports.
Samms brings a wealth of experience to his new role, with experience in the design, construction and operation of airport people mover projects across the country, including the Skylink at Dallas’Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and AirTran at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
In his new role, Samms will provide operational oversight to the multi-billion-dollar public-private partnerships as they begin operating the automated people mover and the consolidated rent-a-car facility at LAX. He will also oversee the Airport Operational Readiness Division to ensure the readiness of multiple airport programs and projects.
