SAN Offering 8 Vaccinations

Through a partnership between the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority and Pacifica Medical, various Centers for Disease Control-recommended vaccinations are now available at San Diego International (SAN).

The shots are being offered to the general public, ticketed passengers and employees at six pre- and post-security locations in Terminals 1 and 2 from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. They are expected to be available through early 2011.

The kiosks feature, vaccinations for seasonal influenza, H1N1, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, pneumonia, typhoid, meningococcal and Tdap, which addresses the current resurgence of pertussis/whooping cough. There is a fee for the vaccinations, but San Diego County residents will be offered a discount.

“We are proud to be able to once again offer flu shots and other CDC-recommended travel vaccines to our passengers,” says Katie Jones, public and community relations official for the airport authority. “We consider this one more way to better serve our customers, and hope that many people – both residents and travelers – are able to take advantage of it.
