San Antonio International (SAT) recognized more than 180 volunteers for service, dedication and hard work at an event held earlier this week. The Airport Ambassadors provide customer service to travelers. The combined cumulative volunteer hours of the ambassadors honored at the lunch is 95,800, which equates to approximately $1.3 million in resources, and “an immeasurable amount of goodwill,” the airport said.
“Visitors to our city learn about the charm and nuances of San Antonio through our incredibly selfless ambassadors,” said Russ Handy, aviation director for the City of San Antonio. “Many of these amazing men and women have retired from successful careers and continue to represent their community through their volunteer service at the airport. And serve they have!”
