SDF Unveils Parking Enhancements

Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) this week announced three new amenities to improve the parking experience at the airport, including the Park Assist Parking Guidance System (PGS) in the garage adjacent to the passenger terminal, an upgraded Premier Parking Lot and SDF Rewards, a frequent parker program with a contactless entry and exit feature.

Park Assist’s M4 smart-sensor system will serve the airport 2,000 space parking structure and features color-coded LED lights to let travelers know whether specific spaces are available or occupied and quickly help them locate the most convenient spot.

“Improving the customer experience is at the heart of all of our decisions,” said Dan Mann, SDF executive director. “We expect the demand for air travel to increase significantly during the second half of 2021 and to be back to normal levels in 2022, so we are doubling down on investments like Park Assist, the Premier Lot, and SDF Rewards that make flying Louisville better than ever before.”

The airport has invested $5 million to improve the newly named Premier Parking Lot (formerly the Credit Card Lot), which features 30 percent more spaces and a covered walkway to the terminal.

The airport’s new SDF Rewards parking program features the option for a fully automated and contactless experience, enabling frequent travelers to earn points for free parking without even rolling the car window down.
