The Port of Seattle has released the competitive bid opportunities for new concessions as part of the North Satellite Modernization Project at Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA).
The airport is doubling the amount of concessions and retail space in the N Gates, which will be modernized and re-opened in mid-2021.
For the seven units available for bid as part of the LG5 concessions area, one will be competed via Request for Proposal (RFP) and six will be competed via the Competitive Evaluation Process (CEP).
They include three food and beverage opportunities: a quick-service restaurant featuring a nationally recognized burger brand, a fast-casual eatery with no pre-requisites regarding concept, and a quick-service, fast-casual or casual-dining concept with no pre-requisites.
The LG5 concessions area also has two specialty retail opportunities with open concepts and two passenger service units, to include massage, spa, or medical services, and a napping room, business center, or a video gaming lounge.
The North Satellite Modernization looks to expand and renovate the 45-year-old facility to provide a better passenger experience with more amenities. One of the current goals of the Port of Seattle is to increase the gross sales of small, local, disadvantaged and certified Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (ACDBE’s) at SEA.
By 2021, when all of the renovations are completed, the Port’s goal is that gross sales from ACDBE’s will reach approximately 22.7 percent, up from the 21.4 percent levels the airport had in 2016, while the number of locations operated in whole or in part by ACDBE’s will have risen from 56 percent in 2016 to 68 percent in 2021.
