SEA Opens Interactive Installation to Stop Wildlife Trafficking

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) has teamed with the Association of Zoos & Aquariums’ Wildlife Trafficking Alliance (WTA) and other stakeholders to unveil an interactive installation to educate travelers and encourage them to help stop wildlife trafficking

Located across from Gate 1, the installation invites SEA travelers to be good stewards of global animal populations, be a “Savvy Traveler” who make smart choices that help save endangered animals, to be aware of the illegal animal trade, and what questions to ask who purchasing products.

“This installation helps us learn how to shop for legal, ethical souvenirs, eat sustainably, and to photograph wildlife responsibly,” said Fred Felleman, commissioner of the Port of Seattle, which oversees SEA. “The Port is proud to display the Savvy Traveler exhibit to elevate the awareness of millions of international travelers who pass through the airport annually so people know how they can make a difference.”

The SEA installation is a pilot product for the WTA, which will be followed by exhibits at other U.S. airport later this year.
