SEA Soft Opens New Arrivals Facility Next Week

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) will open its new International Arrivals Facility (IAF) to passengers beginning next week as part of trial run.

To start, the IAF will handle a limited number of international flights departing between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. from the A gates. In early May, SEA will expand its trial run to include flights arriving from the S Concourse.

On May 10 all arriving flights will begin using the IAF with passengers crossing over an active taxi-lane on an 85-foot-high aerial walkway into the IAF Grand Hall, a 450,00-square-foot baggage claim and customs processing area that is more than four times the size of the previous space.

“Global relationships and connectivity make our region more vibrant and resilient,” said Hamdi Mohammed, commissioner of the Port of Seattle, operator of SEA. “As a welcoming Port focused on customer service, the new International Arrivals facility brings all our values for economic opportunity, sustainability and inclusion into one remarkable building.”
