Senior Vice President of Aviation for Properties

Denver International Airport is seeking a Senior Vice President of Properties to represent the airport as the facility owner and to manage the development, acquisition, leasing, complex negotiations, and property management of the airport’s real property and facilities such as cargo buildings, hangars, terminal, and concourses.  This is a rare opportunity to have direct impact on key services in the international aviation community.

DIA is more than a world class airfield; it’s a complex enterprise that generates over $800 million in annual revenues from a wide variety of sources. The Properties division performs a diverse array of landside and airside functions for this highly complex organization. Broadly, your responsibility will be for managing and directing the development of strategies, policies, and operating procedures for airline/tenant leasing, property management, hotel services, rental car services, and personnel functions.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

• Baccalaureate degree in Business, Real Estate Management, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, Aviation Management, Management, Political Science, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Three (3) years of management experience in the aviation industry, and preferably in the public sector, which must include:

• At least three (3) years of managerial experience in program management/operations, properties/asset management, business development, or strategic planning in the aviation industry,
• Demonstrated (proven) leadership skills managing professional and technical level staff, and,
• Demonstrated management level experience which must include: budget and fiscal oversight responsibility; evaluation of business processes; and policy and decision making experience including planning and organizing multiple programs, projects, and operations.

The ideal candidate for this job will possess experience and training above the minimum standards, will have performed similar duties in an airport similar to DIA or for a major airline, and can demonstrate that their values align with the organizational values of DIA.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE EQUIVALENCY:

Two years of the appropriate type and level of experience will serve as an equivalency to one year of education. (For example, if a Baccalaureate Degree is required, eight years of relevant experience can be substituted.)

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have at least five (5) years of management experience in the aviation industry, and preferably in the public sector
