SFO Lauds Top Concessions Employees For Service

San Francisco International (SFO) has honored three individuals in its 2012 Above and Beyond airport tenant recognition program.

“Our award winners truly deliver the type of excellent service that customers have come to expect at SFO,” said John L. Martin, Director of San Francisco International Airport. “We are honored and pleased to recognize the great work that so many do on a daily basis to make the traveling experience more enjoyable.”

The program evaluated hundreds of concession employees and determined the grand prize winner was Kenita Taylor of Erwin Pearl in Terminal 3. She was lauded for being attentive and professional, as well as friendly, outgoing and welcoming.

Second prize went to Randy Hom of Kiehl’s in Terminal 2 for his professionalism and willingness to assist customers; Arceli Perez of Travelex in the International Terminal received third prize, praised for her consistently great service and organizational skills.

In the concessions category, Yankee Pier in Terminal 3 took the honors. It was evaluated three times and received perfect scores each time. Staff was noted for being attentive and displaying great teamwork, as well as being welcoming.

SFO Travelers Information volunteers have acted as mystery shoppers over the past several months, visiting concessions and posing a variety of requests and questions to employees as a way to analyze their job performance and test their knowledge of the airport and its services. Winners received a cash award and a recognition certificate at an award ceremony July 18 at the San Francisco International Airport Aviation Museum and Library.
