SFO Reaches Agreements With UberX, Lyft

San Francisco International (SFO) has reached agreements with both Lyft and UberX that will permit the transportation network companies to operate legally at the airport.

The pilot permit allows drivers to pick up and drop off at SFO. Both companies are expected to begin operations there within the next few weeks. These deals come a week after SFO signed a permit with Sidecar.

“We are committed to be an industry leader, creating a roadmap for innovative business models like Lyft and UberX to operate legally in an airport,” says John Martin, airport director. “We’re proud to be the first airport in the U.S. to have signed permits from both companies. This gives customers at SFO more choice, without compromising our focus on safety and security.”
