San Francisco International Airport (SFO) announced that it will open an interim walkway during construction of its Terminal 3 West Modernization Project. The walkway will feature two sections: a 440-foot connector between Terminal 3’s Gate E and the Terminal 3 food court, and a 1,000-foot connector between the Terminal 3 food court and International Terminal G gates. Designed and built by Turner Construction Company, Gensler, TEF Design, WCME JV: PGH Wong Engineering, Inc., Consor Engineers, MCK Americas, Inc. and ECS Consultants, the walkway is scheduled to open November 5 and will be open throughout the airport’s $2.6 billion construction project. SFO’s Terminal 3 West Modernization Project will renovate the existing 650,000-square-foot western half of Terminal 3 and add 200,000 square feet of space to the facility, as well as add a new, six-story building dedicated to airline lounge and office space. The project is expected to be completed in phases between 2027 and 2029.
