Shanahan Named CFO At Denver International

Denver International (DEN) has appointed Gisela Shanahan its new CFO and executive vice president of finance.

Shanahan will lead the business unit that includes finance, accounting, business management services, internal audit and financial planning, and analysis. She will direct the financial and strategic management of the airport’s operating budget, with annual revenues of $900 million, and a $1.4 billion capital program.

Shanahan has been with DEN since 2014, serving as the senior manager for capital planning and budget, and more recently as the acting senior vice president of finance, where she was responsible for financial forecasting, management of the airport’s debt profile, aligning capital program with the airport’s strategic objectives and the design and implementation of a new operations and maintenance budget project to ensure effective and efficient use of financial resources.

She arrived at DEN from the Denver Wastewater/Stormwater Utility Enterprise, where she was the financial manager and agency controller. She also spent seven years serving as CFO of Colorado Springs (COS).
