The Halifax International Airport Authority has signed a letter of intent with New Castle Hotels LLC and Southwest Properties Ltd. to design, build and manage a full-service Sheraton Hotel at Halifax International (YAZ).
“We are delighted to be working with New Castle Hotels, LLC and Southwest Properties Limited to bring a Sheraton Hotel to HSIA, and raise the level of service for our customers,” says Jerry Staples, HIAA vice president of marketing and business development. “Having a 175-room hotel attached to the terminal building with world-class amenities will provide another significant advantage as we market the airport to increase air service for Atlantic Canadians,” adds Staples.
The next step is finalizing the details of the land lease. The hotel will be built in 2009 and is expected to open in 2010.
