San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) has launched “Meet the Chefs,” a new culinary program designed to enhance the passenger experience, by providing live cooking demonstrations by celebrated chefs from airport restaurants.
Meet the Chefs kicked off with a live demonstration by renowned local chef and restaurateur, Jim Stump, whose restaurant Jim Stump’s Taproom + Kitchen opened at SJC last year in a partnership with SSP America.
Stump showcased his culinary skills with his unique Monterey Bay Vermillion Rock Fish Ceviche served with guacamole, salsa match and a blue corn tortilla chip.
“Events such as these aim to provide the excellent customer experience our travelers expect and deserve,” said John Aitken, SJC director of aviation. “We are grateful to Jim Stump and SSP America for their collaboration, and to our airport staff for making this event series a reality.”
The “Meet the Chefs” series of events will continue to delight passengers periodically with well-known local chefs doing live demonstrations of their cooking prowess to entertain travelers at the airport.
