SkyTeam is slated to open dedicated lounge at Vancouver International (YVR) by the end of the year. The lounge will serve first, business and elite plus customers flying on any of the alliance’s nine member airlines currently serving the airport. The YVR location will be the group’s seventh branded facility and its first in North America.
“Increasing the number of SkyTeam lounges around the world realizes significant synergies for our airlines while offering a greatly enhanced airport experience for our top customers, delivering value for both,” said Perry Cantarutti, SkyTeam’s CEO and managing director. “We recently opened our Beijing lounge, and with the planned opening of Vancouver later this year, SkyTeam will offer more branded airport lounges around the world than any other airline alliance.”
“We have nine valued SkyTeam airline partners at YVR and are thrilled Vancouver will be their first North American lounge location,” said Scott Norris, vice president of commercial development, Vancouver Airport Authority. “We always want to offer exceptional customer experiences and I am confident that the new SkyTeam Lounge will do just that by providing premium amenities in a beautifully appointed location surrounded by our award-winning shopping facilities.”
SkyTeam member airlines serving YVR include: Aeroméxico, Air France, China Airlines, China Eastern, China Southern, Delta Air Lines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air and Xiamen Airlines.
