Skywrite A Message On MKE’s Web Site

General Mitchell International (MKE) is giving visitors to its Web site the chance to send virtual skywritten e-greetings.

The new marketing campaign, dubbed Skymailme, lets users upload an image of themselves as the pilot of a plane that skywrites their message over an image of Lake Michigan. For users who choose not to upload a photo, there is a selection of preloaded pilots who can be dressed up with aviator accessories.

The airport hopes the new campaign will help spread the word among northern Illinois travelers about the MKE.

“Eight out of every 10 air travelers in northern Illinois are aware of Mitchell Airport,” notes Pat Rowe, spokeswoman for Mitchell Airport. “Many of those travelers use Mitchell now, but we’d like the rest to take the next step and experience the difference Mitchell has to offer.”

In addition to the e-greetings section, the site shares the benefits of using MKE versus Chicago O’Hare International (ORD) and lets users compare airfare and parking fees between the two airports.

The site can be found at www.flyMKE.com.
