A wave of improvements has swept into Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International (CVG), including a new concessions concept and multiple FuelRod stations.
“We strive every day to provide a safe, convenient, enjoyable travel environment for our passengers,” says Candace McGraw, CEO of CVG. “We are the front door to the community. We want our passengers to feel welcome and at home when they travel.”
Smashburger, operated by HMSHost Corp., opened on July 8 between Gates A9 and A11. The space is 1,500 square feet and will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Additionally FuelRod stations have been installed near the information booth in Concourse A; Gate A10; Gate A16; near the Delta Sky Club in Concourse B; Gate B10 and gate B11. The booths allow travelers to purchase a rechargeable FuelRod kit for $20 or exchange a depleted FuelRod for a fully charged one at no cost.
Another new amenity specific to international travelers is online shopping offered by Duty Free Americas. Shoppers can browse items for purchase online before departure and have them delivered to their specific gate.
Finally, those traveling with children will be able to use the Kids Landing Play Area. The space is free and located in Concourse A. CVG partnered with Playtime to create the play area, which includes soft-surface climbing toys Timmy the Turtle and Rodney the Rabbit, as well as a slide.
“We only want the best for our passengers,” says Wm. T. Robinson III, Kenton County airport board chairman. “The concessions and amenities added for our passengers keep us on the fore front of technology while bringing in the comforts of home.”
