STL To Host Day On The Runway To Benefit Special Olympics Missouri

St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) is planning to host “STL Day on the Runway,” a family-friendly event on April 15 that will include a 5K race, family fun walk, plane pull, and a festival with events and attractions.

STL Day on the Runway supports individuals with intellectual disabilities served by Special Olympics Missouri and will be made possible through a partnership among STL, area law enforcement agencies and FedEx.

All proceeds from STL Day on the Runway will fund opportunities for the more than 6,000 Special Olympics Missouri athletes. With money raised by STL Day on the Runway, athletes will be able to participate in local and regional activities at little or no cost to them.

“Through our partnership with Law Enforcement Torch Run, Special Olympics Missouri has the honor of providing unique events in our local communities,” said Mark Musso, president and CEO of Special Olympics Missouri. “We are excited to work with St. Louis Lambert International Airport, FedEx and law enforcement partners to bring the St. Louis community together in an effort to raise awareness and break down social barriers and stigma that often surrounds individuals with intellectual disabilities.”
