A Sunday Times-commissioned survey, conducted by Fast Track, has ranked SSP 30th among the biggest, privately owned businesses in the U.K.
Each of the 100 companies named in the survey had sales of more than £500M ($993.3M); more than a third of them had sales of more than £1B ($1.98B).
SSP’s profits for 2007 were £135M ($268.19M). The list mentions that SSP has a presence in 28 countries; however, since the list was compiled, SSP has added United Arab Emirates and Austria to its roster. It employs more than 26,000 worldwide.

SSP has won contracts for or opened concepts in the following places:
– In Geneva International (GVA), visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of the Montreux Jazz Festival year round at the world’s first Montreux Jazz Cafe. The restaurant features a lounge bar-style backstage area with sound system and 70-inch flat-screen television showing images from the festival.
– SSP has won a five-year contract in at the new Skylink Terminal at Vienna International (VIE). The company will operate a food court in the new terminal when it opens in June.
– Lufthansa subsidiary LSG-Airport Gastronomiegesellschaft has awarded its airport business to SSP. The agreement incorporates all LSG’s concessions in landside and airside areas at Berlin International (TXL), Berlin-Schönefeld International (SXF), Bremen (BRE), Cologne/Bonn (CGN), Frankfurt (FRA) and Munich International (MUC).
