Travelers flying on Virgin America and American Airlines at the renovated Terminal 2 at San Francisco International (SFO) will soon have two food and beverage options.
Tastes on the Fly airport restaurant group has been awarded two locations at the new terminal, which is scheduled to open by year’s end.
Those wanting a traditional, sit-down meal can dine at The Grille by Lark Creek, an outpost of the Lark Creek restaurant group.
For passengers who want to create their own picnic-to-go, Napa Farms Market is an original gourmet marketplace concept being developed by Tastes on the Fly.
“Napa Farms is another airport innovation from Tastes on the Fly,” says Michael Levine, Tastes on the Fly co-founder and COO. “It combines the bounty of a farmer’s market with food stations featuring Northern Californian artisan food merchants, producers and growers. Travelers will be able to create their own fresh organic meals.”
Among the offerings in the marketplace will be Equator Coffee; Cowgirl Creamery Cheeses; Acme Bread; Hog Island Oysters; Three Twins Organic Ice Cream; and Kara’s Cupcakes. Food Network chef Tyler Florence will also have a rotisserie creating sandwiches.
Vino Volo will also join Napa Farms Market. Its retail wine store will be situated within Napa Farms and will showcase Northern California’s wine country, as well as a section of global wines, and the adjacent wine bar will offer wines from around the world.
“Adding a cozy wine lounge and first-class wine store makes perfect sense for the concept given our proximity to the country’s greatest wine region,” says Levine. Vino Volo is headquartered in San Francisco.
