Approximately 150 people attended Tampa International’s (TPA) Pre-Solicitation Conference on Sept. 23 at the Tampa Airport Marriott. The meeting was followed by a self-guided tour of Concourses A, C, E and F.
Speaking on behalf of the airport were Bhavesh Patel, director of airport concessions; Elita McMillon, director of ethics, diversity and compliance; and Theresa Webb, purchasing manager.
“We are at the precipice of transforming our concession program after 40 years,” says Patel. “This is an electrifying time for the airport. This opportunity will make a real lasting impact on the community, the traveling public and all of our stakeholders.”
There will be five retail and duty-free packages. Package 1 contains 12 units totaling 10,319 square feet; Package 2 features nine units totaling 11,905 square feet. In all, there are 33 units totaling approximately 35,000 square feet.
For food and beverage, there will be six packages. The largest of the two are Packages 1 and 2. Package 1 contains 11 units totaling 21,659 square feet. According to the merchandising plan, the package contains branded coffee, casual-dining and bar concepts. With four units totaling 22,168 square feet, Package 2’s merchandising plan calls for casual dining and marche concepts.
For services, there is only one package. Containing four units totaling 2,909 square feet, the package lists spa/massage services.
The length of terms in each package is 10 years.
The airport also discussed a schedule of important dates. Among them is the response deadline, which is 2 p.m. Dec. 16; presentations by short-listed proposers March 16-22; final evaluation meetings April 27-May 1; and selection and award June 4.
