Bhavesh Patel is the new director of airport concessions at Tampa International (TPA).
In his new role, his primary focus will be revenue optimization, identifying and implementing new sources of non-aviation revenues, and bringing additional focus on the quality of the concessions areas.
“It is an exciting time in Tampa International Airport’s history and there are many new opportunities to consider,” says Gigi Rechel, general counsel, vice president of corporate affairs, real estate for TPA. “We looked for the right person to assist us in planning what the future concessions program should look like in regards to customer service, local presence/branding and improved revenue. Bhavesh has a reputation for growing concession programs at other airports. We welcome his expertise.”
Prior to joining TPA, Patel was the manager of the concession development program for the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority; other experience includes consulting with SH&E, and various positions at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, General Electric Engine Services, Northwest Airlines, Tucson Airport Authority and the city of Phoenix Aviation Department.
“I am very excited to have this opportunity to be a part of Joe Lopano and the Tampa International Airport’s management team,” Patel says.
