TPA Travelers Can Get Their Groove On During Friday Flight Events

Local artists are showcasing their talents at Tampa International (TPA) as part of Friday Flight, an entertainment series at the airport.

“The airport has often been called Tampa’s living room,” says Tampa International Airport CEO Joe Lopano. “This new program is intended to make the airport not just a way to reach your destination, but a destination in itself that reflects the Tampa Bay region, from the food and beverage selections, to merchandise, to arts and entertainment.”

The first event of the series is at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 5 in the main terminal on the third floor, between Airsides A and C. there will be a happy hour martini bar and live music by local act the Vodkanauts.

“We’re thrilled beyond belief to be a part of the first show at Tampa International Airport,” says Mark “Tweedtone” Warren, guitarist and vocalist for The Vodkanauts. “We’re excited about performing and putting on a show that will really take people back to time when air travel was really something special.”

The group describes its sound as power-lounge music of golden oldies.
