Tampa International (TPA) has a new mobile website, designed for smart phone users.
Users can visit tampaairport.com on their Web-enabled device and will be instantly redirected to the mobile site; the site includes data such as flight information, parking options and rates, shops and restaurants, and ground transportation. More is expected to be added in the coming months.
“Providing the highest level of customer service no longer involves just a pleasant visit at the airport,” says Tampa International CEO Joe Lopano. “We have to anticipate the needs of our customers and provide better service before they even walk through the door.”
The new service is available on phones using the iPhone and Android platforms; additional smart phone operating systems will be available soon.

The airport board of directors has announced an agreement with SunTrust Bank for a revolving credit agreement. The authority will use it to refinance $85.2M of outstanding debt under its commercial paper program.
The deal is for a seven-year term, variable rate interest and a provision that allows the authority to convert to a fixed interest rate in the future. The variable rate is estimated at 1.2% under current market conditions.
“The airport is fortunate to team with SunTrust on this important financing arrangement which provides benefits to stakeholders of both organizations,” says Lopano. “The ability to take advantage of current low interest rates contributes to the continued sound financial management of the airport.”
“The aviation authority is an important driver of economic growth in our region,” says Adam L. Horn, first vice president of not-for-profit and government banking at SunTrust Banks Inc. “We value our relationship with the Authority and are pleased to help with its financing needs.”
