Travel Channel Docu-Series To Highlight MIA

Miami International (MIA) will be featured in a new docu-series on the Travel Channel in the spring.

Local company 2C Media will produce the show, “Miami International Airport” in six episodes, offering a day-in-the-life look at how the airport’s employees operate.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for national viewers to see some of our many hard-working and dedicated employees in action and the improvements we’re making for the traveling public,” says Lauren Stover, assistant director of the Miami-Dade Aviation Department. “In cooperation with federal and local agencies and our other airport partners, we were able to arrange for the access necessary to make this show a first in television history.”

The MIA program is one of eight original docu-series aimed at helping viewers discover new places and show another side of travel.

“Our viewers are passionate about discovering new unique destinations and embrace the surprise of rediscovering the places found just around the corner – but from fresh angles,” says Andy Singer, senior vice president of programming and production at Travel Channel. “We are really excited about our new slate of programming that showcases the authentic characters and experts that not only entertain, but are guaranteed to inspire our viewers.”
