Travel + Leisure Reveals Its Choice Hot Spots

Travel + Leisure magazine has named its 2010 best airport hot spots, and SSP and NewsLink Group took home some of the honors.

Two awards went to SSP. Le Grand Comptoir at George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) was named Best New Snack Joint. It offers international wines by the glass, a variety of menu options and house-baked pastries. It can be found in Terminal C South.

Another SSP concept, this one at Geneva International (GVA), was also an award winner; Altitude was named Best New Restaurant. It features white-tablecloth dining overlooking the Jura Mountains and is located on Level 3 of the main terminal.

“Our restaurants are designed to intrigue passengers and provide them a unique experience – regardless of what city, country or continent they are in,” says Les Cappetta, CEO of SSP. “It feels great to be recognized by Travel + Leisure for achieving this both nationally and internationally.”

NewsLink Group claimed the award for Best New Shop for Britto at Miami International (MIA). Featuring Romero Britto’s art work, accessories, prints, souvenirs and other collectibles, the store can be found in the North Terminal, Concourse D, Gate 32.

“NewsLink is very proud of our recent award in Travel + Leisure Magazine, selecting our Shop Britto as the Best New Airport Shop in the World in their recognition of the 10 Best Airport Hot Spots,” says Raymond Kayal Jr., president and CEO of NewsLink. “This award is a global recognition of our dedication to bringing new and innovative ideas to airports. This is an honor for the team of dedicated employees we have at NewsLink, who have all worked very hard in making this idea a reality.”
