Oakland International (OAK) became the latest airport to allow the transportation network company Lyft to operate at the airport when service began Thursday.
“Lyft offers yet another ground transportation choice for passengers flying to or from the San Francisco Bay Area through OAK,” says Kristi McKenney, acting director of aviation. “New ground transportation options are particularly welcome as passenger traffic continues to increase here at the airport.”
The eight-month pilot program allows Lyft to pick up and drop off travelers at OAK.
“We’re excited to announce that starting today, you’ll be able to request a Lyft when your travels take your through Oakland International Airport,” says Bakari Brock, Lyft’s director of business development and airports. “We’d like to thank airport staff and the Port of Oakland for preserving Lyft’s affordable, convenient rides for OAK travelers.”
