Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) and Fraport Maryland announced the addition of two new brands with ACDBE-ownership to the airport dining options with Rita’s Italian Ice and Brother’s BBQ Pitstop.
Rita’s Italian Ice started in 1984 when Bob Tumolo, a former firefighter, opened a small Italian Ice business on his front porch in a suburb of Philadelphia. Their offerings have proven enormously popular and the location at BWI Concourse C is their 547th store. Rita’s is being operated at BWI by ACDBE business owner Tisha Skinner, who already operates the Smoothie King in 2016 in Concourse D.
Brother’s BBQ Pitstop owner Sandra Long is continuing her relationship with Fraport in the new BWI eatery, having already been working with the developer on a location at Nashville International Airport (BNA). Long is a third-generation restaurateur who is also an ACDBE certified business owner in the State of Maryland.
