United Airlines has begun operations at five new gates of the new eastern concourse of Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport (LGA), while also opening a new United Club on the second level of the renovated concourse.
United Airlines will have about 40 flights from the five gates, serving key markets such as Denver and Houston. With United’s move to the eastern concourse, 16 of the 18 new gates are now in operation, with the final two gates scheduled to open next year.
The 250,000 square-foot and light-filled new concourse opened in December 2018 with its first 11 gates servicing Southwest, Air Canada, and American Airlines flights. The concourse features spacious gate areas, modern amenities and an array of locally inspired dining and retail.
“United customers depend on LaGuardia for frequent service to key business cities such as Chicago and Denver and the new Terminal B represents a huge improvement in the facilities we are able to provide, including a gorgeous new United Club,” says Jill Kaplan, United’s president of New York and New Jersey.
The newly opened United Club is 30 percent larger than the previous club at LGA and features a convenient location just past security, great views of the concourse and amenities that include an expanded menu.
“The opening of five new gates and a state-of-the-art United Club is a major step for the LaGuardia Airport redevelopment,” says Kevin O’Toole, chairman of the Port Authority, which oversees LGA as well as John F. Kennedy International (JFK) and Newark Liberty International (EWR). “The transformation of LaGuardia Airport is not only going to modernize our airport but improve the customer experience as well.”
