Stephen Van Beek has joined the Steer Davies Gleave firm, responsible for leading the company’s North American aviation practice. In his new role, Van Beek will provide business and strategic planning as well as policy and regulatory services.
“Stephen’s experience in forging solutions to many of transportation and aviation’s most important policy and industry problems establish him as the perfect person to lead our North American aviation business and provide yet another industry leader to our growing team,” says Steve Hewitt, chief operating officer at Steer Davies Gleave.
In his career, Van Beek has worked as a professor, senior government official and management consultant, with a focus on policy and regulatory services and strategic and business planning.
He served as head of policy for Airports Council International-North America and as associate deputy secretary and head of intermodalism for the U.S. Department of Transportation. He recently was seconded to the ACI-Montreal as head of economics. He is currently serving as a senior transport advisor to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
