Joe Waller, who has played roles in the success of concessionaire HMSHost Corp. and developer Westfield, has been named CEO at Pacific Gateway Concessions.
Waller most recently had been senior vice president of business development and leasing for Westfield’s $860 million airports portfolio. As vice president of business development for HMSHost, he directed relationships generating nearly $400 million in sales and helped create B4 You Board, the company’s smartphone app that allows travelers to purchase meals and have them delivered to the gate at which they are waiting for their flight.
“The company is excited to bring Joe into the business at this time,” says Manuel Soto III, managing member. “On the back of the new business growth we achieved last year and projects and opportunities in front of us, this is a great time to tap his expertise and leadership for our operations and the next stage of our growth. Joe will lead the growing Pacific Gateway team through the next phases of expansion across North America.”
In addition to his work with Westfield and HMSHost, Waller has served as chairman of the board for Airports Council International – North America and is currently on the board of the Airport Minority Advisory Council.
“PGC is one of the only companies in our industry with operations throughout the United States that is 100 percent American owned, privately held and a graduate of the [Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise] program,” Waller says. “Though PGC has grown significantly since it was founded, the PGC team has not lost its entrepreneurial spirit and passion for innovation. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this company.”
