The Houston Airport System launched a new website this week, designed to educate the public on developments surrounding the establishment of a licensed commercial spaceport at Ellington (EFD).
The site contains background information, a multi-media gallery with conceptual video and renderings of the proposed facility, and news about the latest happenings with the HAS’ vision.
The plan to move forward with the spaceport was approved by the Houston City Council in July 2013. Before Houston Spaceport can become established, the HAS must be granted a Launch Site License from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Office of Commercial Space Transportation. Airport officials expect to submit that application later this year.
The site, created by Easterly & Associates, can be accessed at: www.fly2houstonspaceport.com.
