Westfield Announces 6 Concepts For LAX’s Terminal 1

Four Southern California-themed concepts will be among a half-dozen new dining and retail destinations coming soon to Terminal 1 at Los Angeles International (LAX).

They are part of a $508 million overhaul of the terminal being spearheaded by Westfield, Los Angeles World Airports and Southwest Airlines.

The venues will be the first of a total of 24 dining and retail concepts expected to open between now and the terminal’s completion in 2018.

“We’re excited to announce the beginning of a terrific new dining and retail collection as Southwest’s flagship terminal at LAX gets underway,” says Dominic Lowe, executive vice president for Westfield. “As proud partners of Southwest Airlines and Los Angeles World Airports, we’re working together to forge a transformative, seamless new experience for Terminal 1 travelers from curb to gate.”

Phase one of the redevelopment will include:

• Rock & Brews, a restaurant featuring a broad selection of international and world-class craft beers and American comfort food in an environment celebrating rock and roll.
• Be Relax, a spa featuring massage, nail and facial services.
• Quiksilver, a retail operation featuring surf wear and lifestyle products.
• Treat Me Sweet, a first-time airport concept featuring confections.
• I Love L.A., a shop selling travel essentials, souvenirs and news and gifts.
• Brookstone, which offers gifts for men, women and children.

The operators partnering with Westfield on these operations are Crews, L.A.-based Soto & Sanchez, Brookstone Inc. and Be Relax.

Terminal 1 has 15 gates. In 2014, it serviced more than 7.6 million travelers. At LAX, Westfield handles concessions there and in Terminals 2, 3 and 6, as well as the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
