Westfield Releases Competitive Evaluation Process For LAX Terminal 6

Westfield Concession Management has released its Competitive Evaluation Process for Los Angeles International’s (LAX) Terminal 6.

The CEP lists six packages and three individual units available for proposal.

“Headquartered in Los Angeles, we have a deep understanding of the elements and communities that create the sense of place LAWA was seeking in the modernization of LAX,” says Dominic Lowe, executive vice president of Westfield. “Each terminal will have a unique look and feel inspired by different iconic parts of the city. Not every terminal will look like Tom Bradley. But the approach of creating an exceptional environment tailor made for the customers and the airlines remains the same.”

Several of the categories listed in the CEP are for travel essentials; full-service, sit-down restaurant; quick-service restaurant; specialty bar with food; coffee; spa and specialty retail. With regard to specialty retail, the CEP lists specific categories such as Los Angeles or a branded lifestyle concept, beauty, accessories, technology and gift.

Westfield’s theme for the terminal is “The Boulevard,” with a focus on lighting, digital technology and architecture inspired by the city’s iconic Sunset Boulevard.

Built in 1961 and expanded in 1979, the 14-gate terminal houses Alaska Airlines, Copa Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Great Lakes Airlines and United Airlines. Nearly 20 percent of the passengers were international travelers.

Written questions to Westfield from proposers will be due July 9, with answers to be posted by July 23. CEP proposals will be due by noon PDT Aug. 25.

Westfield is the terminal commercial manager for the airport’s Tom Bradley International Terminal, and Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 6. The first phase, the new TBIT program, opened last fall.
