Two local brands will be among the four dining establishments HMSHost Corp. will bring to Terminal 6 at Los Angeles International (LAX) starting in mid-2015.
Golden Road’s Point the Way Cafe, a pub dedicated to the city’s first craft brewery, and Blu2o, an upscale seafood restaurant, are part of an agreement HMSHost signed with Westfield, which is developing the terminal’s food and retail program.
As part of the arrangement, HMSHost also will bring Starbucks and Starbucks Reserve Evenings to the refurbished terminal. The four locations will open between June and May 2016.
“Today’s travelers are constantly looking for a high-quality dining experience in the airport, and at the same time still want that comfort of what they know,” says Bryan Loden, senior director of business development at HMSHost. “We wanted to give them the chance to have a uniquely L.A. dining experience with Point the Way Cafe and Blu2o, but also knew that bringing in one of America’s most popular brands, Starbucks, would be a huge hit with everyone coming through T6.”
As part of the Point the Way Cafe offering, HMSHost and Golden Road have teamed up to release the first craft beer made exclusively for airports, Carry On Citrus Ale. L.A.’s own chef David Myers will help develop the menu at Blu2o. Starbucks Reserve Evenings will offer local, seasonal beer and wines, as well as an expanded food selection and reserve coffees from estates around the world brewed with Starbucks’ new Clover brewing system.
