Westfield debuted the newly redesigned Terminal 6 in Los Angeles International (LAX) this week. The terminal, a $70.5 million investment by the company and Los Angeles World Airports, features 21 new retail and food and beverage concepts.
In the redesign, more than 22,000 square feet of space were renovated to reflect L.A.’s Sunset Boulevard. In addition to the new concessions space, the terminal now has new terrazzo flooring and ribbon ceiling. Other updates included three sets of bathrooms, new electrical and IT infrastructure, and tenant office spaces.
“LAWA had the bold vision to completely transform the traveler experience at the airport,” says Keith Kaplan, vice president at LAX for Westfield. “We’re so honored to help make that happen right here in our hometown, and we’re infusing the culture and spirit of Los Angeles into LAX.”
New concessions concepts include Belkin, Blu2o, earthbar, The Habit Burger Grill, M.Fredric, MAC Cosmetics, The Marketplace by Wolfgang Puck, Osteria by Fabio Viviani, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, Point the Way Cafe, See’s Candies, two Starbucks locations, TUMI, Wahoo’s Fish Taco, Los Angeles Magazine News, Access Hollywood, Sunset News and MARKET 8600.
“We’re raising the bar for what’s possible at an airport,” says Deborah Flint, CEO of LAWA. “LAWA and Westfield are providing passengers a special experience that allows them to sample the best of L.A., food and drink, unique shops and modern amenities. Now they can find all that and more in Terminal 6.”
