Whisky River Opens At RDU

Whisky River, a restaurant opened in tandem by HMSHost Corp. and Dale Earnhardt Jr., began serving travelers at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in early June.

Whisky River first opened in uptown Charlotte and has grown into a honky-tonk hangout well known in North Carolina.

“It’s another opportunity to welcome visitors to North Carolina with great food and live music,” says Earnhardt.

Whisky River’s chef-driven menu is known for dishes such as spicy beef chili, beer can chicken, a Texas tequila cheddar burger and a buffalo chop salad. The venue has a North Carolina feel, with racing action on televisions surrounding the bar area and a wall adorned entirely in belt buckles. The feeling continues with images of whisky barrels throughout the restaurant, cowhide seating and a stationary bull centered in the patio area.

“Whisky River is a great addition to the lineup of exceptional dining experiences at RDU,” says Michael Landguth, president and CEO at the airport.
