In an effort to improve amenities at the airport, Memphis International (MEM) has expanded its free Wi-Fi to cover the cell phone parking lot.
MEM has a tiered Wi-Fi service through Boingo Wireless that includes free, ad-supported Wi-Fi for all travelers. Premium Wi-Fi is available to purchase for more data-intensive needs, like streaming video and uploading large files.
The cell phone lot, where people can wait for incoming passengers, is located to the right of the main drive leading to the terminal. Flight information displays, improved lighting and landscaping were also implemented into the lot recently.
“We are committed to improving the customer experience here at MEM, and expanding free Wi-Fi to our cell phone lot gives our guests more options and better access to information,” says Scott Brockman, president and CEO of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority.
