Vancouver International (YVR) will be celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary since confederation with a series of entertainment options throughout July. Canada 150 at YVR will take place from July 1 – July 31, 2017 inside the terminal, with live music from local artists, Canadian themed photo vignettes, exclusive store specials, contests and prizes.
“We are always looking for ways to enhance the passenger experience at YVR and what better way than to bring the celebration of Canada to our terminal,” said Scott Norris, vice president of commercial development for the Vancouver Airport Authority.
During the month-long celebration, travelers and visitors will have access to exclusive food specials highlighting Canadian-inspired cuisine at featured restaurants. YVR’s retail partners will also be offering discounts and sampling alongside featured made-in-Canada products.
Teaming up with Vancouver-based record label 604 Records, YVR will showcase local Canadian musicians with performances throughout the terminal. The live music will take place every Wednesday and Friday in July between 9:30a.m. to 1:30p.m. pre-security in the Domestic Terminal, Level 3 – Food Court and the International Terminal Level 3 – The Spirit of Haida Gwaii: The Jade Canoe. There will also be musical performances in every pier after security for outbound passengers.
In partnership with Air Canada, YVR is also giving away four pairs of round-trip tickets to any destination in Canada from YVR. Passengers can enter to win by visiting any YVR shop, service or restaurant or by visiting the unique Canada-themed photo vignette locations throughout the terminal.
