Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) this week announced a partnership at the airport between Uber Eats and a number of HMSHost-operated restaurants across Terminals 1 and 3 to provide contactless food ordering for passengers.
This partnership will make Pearson the first airport in the world to launch mobile order and pickup service on Uber Eats, enabling anyone at the airport to download the Uber Eats app for iOS or Android, order a meal ahead of time, and pick it up at the restaurant when it’s ready.
“A healthy airport focus coupled with stellar experiences for our passengers and employers is our aspiration,” says Deborah Flint, president and CEO of Greater Toronto Airports Authority, operators of YYZ. “We can do both, and our technology-based partnerships are an excellent example of how Pearson is continuing to evolve the airport experience while adding layers of protection to our globally recognized Healthy Airport program.”
In the coming months, other restaurants will be added to Uber Eats offerings at YYZ.
“Bringing new technology into the airport that makes food and beverage transactions easier, safer and quicker is a top priority for HMSHost,” said Neil Thompson, HMSHost vice president of digital. “Our partnership with Uber Eats is a testament to our safe dining commitment while providing a contactless order and pickup solution that elevates the overall passenger experience at Pearson.”
