Looking to provide area travelers with more options pre-security, Austin-based restaurateur Iris Ren is opening Z Café before Security Checkpoint 2 at Austin-Bergstrom International (AUS).
Located near the American Airlines ticket counter in a space renovated this past spring, Z Café will formally open later this summer, serving hot and cold coffees, drinks, sandwiches and Asian foods, as well as assorted snacks like pastries, salads, chips and energy bars.
Designed by local interior designer Kasey McCarty, Z Café will incorporate elements of a modern Texas café combined with French and farmhouse touches to create a rustic, homey feeling that will encourage travelers to arrive early and enjoy a quick meal, snack or coffee before going through AUS security, Ren says.
