Airport Experience News is pleased to announce that Candace McGraw, CEO of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), has been named its 2019 Director of the Year in the medium airports category.
“It is an honor to recognize Candace McGraw for this award,” says Ramon Lo, publisher of Airport Experience News. “Candace is a seasoned leader and role model, not just with CVG but within the industry. Her work to advance both is why we feel that she is more than worthy of this award.”
During her 11-year tenure with CVG, McGraw has ushered the airport through expansion on both passengers and cargo. From 2013 to 2018 CVG added more than 3 million passengers, reaching nearly 8.9 million in 2018, and has expanded service options for travelers. Landing fees have been reduced, resulting in more airlines, lower airfares and higher passenger numbers. Also, CVG is currently the eighth-largest cargo airport in North America, and is home to DHL’s North American hub. Recently, Amazon announced plans for its $1.5 billion cargo hub on the south side of the airfield.
McGraw currently serves as the chair for Airports Council International-North America and is an Airports Council International World board member, working to advance the issues of the North American airport industry.
“I am honored to be recognized as 2019 Director of the Year by Airport Experience News,” says McGraw. “Our focus at CVG is to make travel through the airport an unforgettably positive experience, and it is a privilege to lead an airport team that has achieved record-breaking, transformational growth over the last several years.”
McGraw will be interviewed in and featured on the cover of AXN’s October issue, as well as an upcoming episode of the Airport Experience News Podcast. She will be presented this award at the Airport Experience Awards on the final night of the 2020 Airport Experience Conference in Denver.
